SHANGHAI JINSHAN GAS

  • 1. DETAILS OF THE CLIENT

Company Name: Shanghai Jinshan Gas (Subsidiary of Shanghai Gas Group)
    Line of Business: Gas business
Service content: Sales and supply of natural gas to households, and commercial and industrial users in the area of Jinshan Shanghai.

  • 2. ISSUES BEFORE INTRODUCTION

Outstanding gas (Example: gas of which the fee cannot be collected. Only 90% of fee of the entire supply of gas was collected due to various factors.) used to put pressure on our profit. Despite various efforts we made to reduce the outstanding gas, we were still struggling with a significant amount of outstanding gas. After the investigation based on the specifications, we reached an assumption that flow meters used by commercial and industrial users could not measure minor flows so that the gas consumption was undercounted.

  • 3. BACKGROUND TO THE INTRODUCTION OF AICHI'S FLOW METERS

When we were in search of flow meters that could also read a small volume of flows, Aichi introduced supersonic flow meters for the low to medium pressure range that could measure a wide range of flows with high accuracy. We knew the advantages of using ultrasonic flow meters, as we had already introduced them for high pressure flows. We decided to immediately introduce Aichi's supersonic flow meters even though they had just been released. We never thought about the existence of the new version of ultrasonic flow meters that could measure the range of low to medium pressures.

  • 4. EFFECT AFTER INTRODUCTION

We made a comparison of Aichi's ultrasonic flow meter and mechanical flow meters provided by another manufacturer by installing them at the same time in a facility. As a result, with Aichi's ultrasonic flow meters, we succeeded in improving the fee collection ratio by approximately 5%. We think the major factor of the improvement is that there were many instances where mechanical flow meters could not measure minor flows of gas that frequently occurred due to the large fluctuation of gas consumption. We will gradually expand Aichi's ultrasonic flow meters to other sites, as the cost is rarely different from the mechanical flow meters.

Aichi Tokei Denki actively proposes the use and technical guidance of flow meters in cooperation with local agencies. If you have similar problems or issues, we are happy to visit you for assistance. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
