When air is pumped into the aeration tank, which is the main process of sewage clarification, oxygen is supplied and aerobic bacteria (microorganisms) are produced. They decompose organic compounds through oxidation and synthesize new cells. This is how the cleansing process works. The blower to pump huge amounts of air accounts for a significant percentage of the entire energy consumption. The proper control of the blower can contribute to energy conservation and reduction of loads on the environment.
