1. DETAILS OF THE CLIENT
Malaysia Water Supply Operation is operated by different companies based on individual States. In Malaysia, Premier Water Services Sdn.Bhd. who has years of experience in data acquisition and flow metering, is strategically partnered with Aichi Tokei Denki as the technology solutions provider of Aichi’s Battery Powered Electromagnetic Water Meter ‘’The SU Series’’ (hereinafter called ‘’Aichi SU’’) for the Water Operations.
2. ISSUES BEFORE INTRODUCTION
As potable water supply demand increase and the realization of the importance of water continue to grow; so is the advancement in technologies available for efficient water metering. In line with this, water operations have been seen much priority being placed on the metrology class of the water meter, to increase reading accuracy.
However, even a 100% accurate water meter is not practical if the meter does not last and is costly to maintain. The robustness and operational cost of maintaining the meter is being side-lined, and its importance is not being taken as a major deciding factor. These issues can vary and include the accuracy drop, need for consistent verifications, battery change, spare part replacement, maintenance required, and faulty water meters.
