2. ISSUES BEFORE INTRODUCTION
In our country, water supply lines are significantly improving focusing on the metropolitan area. However, ESSAP had serious problems of reduced earnings resulting from water leaks and illegal connections due to the lack of control on water supply lines. Therefore, in order to implement the block water feeding project to reduce non-revenue water, we were looking for high-performance water meters that could measure water supply and the consumption of tap water.
3. BACKGROUND TO THE INTRODUCTION OF AICHI'S FLOW METERS
We employed SU because it can measure small flows with a high degree of accuracy in comparison with mechanical water meters. In addition, SU and transmitters that can be used as data loggers played a critical role in our decision. Other manufacturers produce electromagnetic meters that need an external power source. The difference is that SU can run with built-in batteries and can be used in sites where no sources are available. We chose SU because it also has waterproof features and can be used in the sites submerged in water.
4. EFFECT AFTER INTRODUCTION
After we introduced SU, we conducted an interim review of the project. The results showed that we were able to identify the location of water leaks in the area where block water feeding was implemented. We will continue to implement the block water feeding system to other areas by using SU. Thanks to Aichi's SU, we were able to reduce the amount of non-revenue water.
